He Takes After His Bapa!

Kai may have a future in something besides ABC's!!!
ARCHITECTURE!
Kai was playing in my office with me while I was working on the computer today. (My office just happens to be the place where we store paper towels, diapers, wipes, etc., etc.). In the middle of my plugging away on the computer Kai says, "Look mom, I built a temple!"
I think we may have an architect in the future.... Kai takes after his Bapa more than we thought!
NOTICE THE STEEPLE?... TOO CUTE!!!

Tough as Nails

This girl takes after her daddy in so many ways. She is the toughest little 6 year old girl I know. She pulled out her own tooth AGAIN. 2 for 2. She pulled out her very first one also and I didn't even think that one was anywhere near ready to be pulled out. Her Nana pulled out the other two.
Plus, this time Nana tried to pull it out for her last Sunday and that was a bit traumatic for her....let's just say, it didn't come out. But this last Thursday it was hanging on for dear life and Maya decided she didn't want to take the chances of swallowing it in the middle of the night and missing out on the tooth fairy so she went off into the bathroom for a few minutes and came out with one less tooth. AMAZING. Just the thought of pulling a tooth out (the sound, the blood, the resistance...ewwww) makes me want to vomit.

So, I am defiantly thinking this girl really is as TOUGH AS NAILS!!!

Immediatley after pulling out her teeth, Maya asked for two straws so that she could do this...

Feeling a little GREEN

The good ol' Leprechauns came to visit our house again this year. They are sneaky little buggers! The kids decorate a treasure chest of sorts every year to leave out for the wee lads. They sneak into our house while we are sleeping and dance around our house, leaving a trail of green string where ever they roam. The kids follow the string that leads straight to the treasure chest now full of green goodies. The kids LOVE this tradition. Anything that brings candy into our home gets them giddy for some reason.

As we were getting ready for bed, Maya showed me this note that she wrote to the Leprechauns ALL BY HERSELF. SO CUTE!!!
side note: I am just so amazed at how quickly this girl is learning to read and write. There are plenty of mistakes so I wrote a translation but she is doing so great with sounding words out.

For breakfast....green eggs with spinach, green apple muffins and green milk. Can I just say, THANK GOODNESS FOR FOOD COLORING!!! I have found so many uses for the stuff.

I LOVE packing Maya's lunches every day...especially when there is a holiday or some excuse to get creative. Today she and Kai both got apple muffins with green food coloring, green grapes, a green apple, apple juice, a string cheese (I just had to add some protein in there somewhere) and a love note on a four leaf clover.

SURPRISE!!!!!

My wonderful mother turns the big 6-0 tommorow and we really wanted to do something fun and memorable for this huge milestone. My mom is amazing and deserves everything that is fun and memorable. SO, we decided to throw her a SURPRISE 60th birthday party. And boy was it ever a surprise. I don't think I have ever seen my mother in such a state of shock then when she walked in unknowingly on her own birthday party.

It was beautiful.

Jodi flew in from Utah and Jen and my mom's sister, Deb, flew in from Colorado. We had a spot reserved at the Claim Jumper resturant where all of our family and friends came to surprise mom. Dad had to tell a little fib, saying that they were going out to dinner with some other Stake President and his wife. So when she and dad showed up to a room full of people who love and appreciate mom so much, she almost hit the floor.

It was such a fun night.

Mom and her sister Deb...

The Campbell Crew (Spencer, Jen, Jodi, Myself, Chris) I LOVE my brothers and sisters!!!!

The Campbell Sisters....

I love this one of Jodi and Jen taking a picture of themselves....(that's what you get for not inviting me. )

Aunt Deb was able to find some pictures of mom when she was younger and I had found some from her younger days with children and so I framed a bunch of these pictures and put them all around the two tables that we had. It was such a fun and sentimental touch.

It is a good thing that Cheryl was in charge of the birthday cake...I mean cakeS. She did an amazing job and made some super delicious cakes. A carrot cake, a layered chocolate cake and some white chocolate coconut cupcakes. My mouth is watering just thinking about them...

I had fun making little party favors, party hats and place mats for the party...

So many friends and family that were not able to make it sent in cards and emails wishing her a happy birthday and I put them all in a little scrapbook for her to keep and read. (Thank you to all who wrote in...it really turned out amazing and made her feel like the queen she is)

Happy Birthday, MOM!!!

I love you so much, Mom. You are the most amazing example of a mother and I am so grateful to have you as mine.
Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mom!!! I love you!!!!

Best Friends

I am working on making a family ABC's book with my kids. The idea is that they have to find something that starts with each letter of the alphabet and take a picture of it so we can put it in our book.
I thought it was so sweet when we came to B and Maya said she wanted a picture with her and I because we were Best Friends.

Be still my heart

We really are...I LOVE THIS KID!!!!

For family night on Monday the Newman's envited us to this really fun place called "Out of This World". All the kids (including Anthony) had a blast on all the fun slides, jump houses and scooters.
BOY OH BOY did they sleep like rocks.
